NYC Dog Walker Rates
We believe we have the best NYC dog walker rates in town. If you find another New York dog walker service with better prices, send us a link and we'll do our best to match it (or better). The following rates and services are valid for 2009 and are subject to change at any time.
All walks include a change of water, optional feeding and/or brushing, and reinforcement of owner's training methods. We meet with each owner and discuss their techniques, including commands, leash handling, use of food/treats as reinforcers, and other details. This ensures the dog's routines and expectations are not disturbed.
Standard NYC Dog Walker Pricing
For occasional NYC dog walks or for care visits while you are out of town, the following rates apply:
- Standard (20-30 minutes): $15/walk
- Extended (45 minutes): $20/walk
- One-Hour (60 minutes): $25/walk
- Per additional dog: $5
- Between 6pm – 9am: $5
Our Standard walking times may vary, but usually last around 20-30 minutes. All of our NYC dog walks are solo (private) by default. If we have another customer in your immediate area (or if you refer one to us), we will offer you the chance for a paired walking, which costs $3 less per walk. All paired walkings must be cleared by the owners and are determined only after a meeting between the two dogs.
Weekly NYC Dog Walker Plans
Our Weekly NYC Dog Walker Plans are a great way to save money. Plans are charged weekly, with no long-term contracts. We do just ask for a week's notice before discontinuing a weekly service plan.
For 3-4 NYC dog walker visits per week:
- Standard (20-30 minutes): $14/walk
- Extended (45 minutes): $19/walk
- One-Hour (60 minutes): $24/walk
- Per additional dog: $5
- Between 6pm – 9am: $5
For 5 or more NYC dog walker visits per week:
- Standard (20-30 minutes): $12/walk
- Extended (45 minutes): $17/walk
- One-Hour (60 minutes): $22/walk
- Per additional dog: $5
- Between 6pm – 9am: $5
Overnight Dog Boarding
We occasionally offer overnight boarding and dog sitting for well-behaved dogs, in our home or yours. Since this is a home-based business and not a kennel, we can only accommodate one or two well-behaved dogs at a time from the same owner.
NYC dog boarding & overnight stays:
- Overnight in our home, : $80; $40/additional dog
- Weekend stay (Fri afternoon – Sun evening): $120; $60/additional dog
- Overnight in your home: $100/night
Other Services and Policies
In addition to dog walking, we offer NYC cat sitter services, puppy care, vet or pet groomer visits, and more.
- NYC cat sitter visits: $15 for approximately 20-30 minutes, sample care includes feeding, water change, a brushing, play, and litter box cleaning. Add $5 for each additional cat. Customers who require frequent cat sitter visits can use our Standard (20-30 minute) NYC dog walker rates for additional savings.
- Trips to the vet or pet groomer: $25 + transportation fee (if applicable). For vet appointments, we will bring along any questions you may have, handle all required paperwork, and prepare a detailed report of the visit.
- Puppy care services: Puppies require lots of love, care and attention. Our standard NYC dog walker rates can be applied for puppy sitting and potty training services. However, if you would like a more customized service plan for your puppy, please contact us. We do not offer behavioral dog training at this time.
- Lock-out & key pick-up or drop-off service: $15 + transportation fee (if applicable). Locked out? We'll try to come by at our earliest possible convenience to let you in! We also charge a modest fee of $10 for picking up and returning keys (during non-lockout situations), which is waived if you provide keys at our first consultation meeting. Keys can also be returned by mail for $5.
- Holiday policy: For Thanksgiving and Christmas, walks are a flat $25, including the day before and the day after. For all other holidays, standard rates apply. If you have the day off from work and do not need a visit for a specific holiday (e.g., Labor Day), 24 hour notice must be given or you may be charged for a standard visit.
- Severe weather policy: During times of severe weather (e.g., heavy snowfall or flooding), we cannot guarantee service. Service availability will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for further information.
- Changes in rates and services: We try to keep rates low and consistent. No one likes a rate hike (just ask anyone who rides the MTA), so we strive to keep rates the same for as long as possible. However, we reserve the right to change our rates and services at any time. In the event of a rate increase, we will inform all current clients at least 30 days in advance by email.
- Other tips for a successful visit: Please make sure your apartment is well-stocked to handle all of your pets' needs, including doggie clean-up bags, treats, cat litter, litter box liners, and extra food. If you store pet supplies in a specific area, let us know where we may find them.
Finally, for our dog walking clients: our job (first and foremost) is to walk your beloved pooch. Though we will make every effort to clean up after your dog if we discover a mess or accident was made in your home, we are not explicitly responsible for performing such duties. If your dog chews things or is not yet potty trained and is prone to accidents, we recommend crating and/or additional walks for extra relief.
